The Path Less Traveled

how are you moving differently than past versions of yourself

are you taking the road not traveled

or are you content staying hidden among the flock

are you walking the same thin line as your parents did

or are you widening the path for something more

how are you moving ~ friend

we forget to add our bodies to the equation when it comes to spiritual development & it inhibits us from fully experiencing our capacity to heal

when we stop noticing “how we move”aka how we react to things, how we make decisions, how we cope, & yes, literally how we move… whether if that’s how we breathe, how we take up our posture, how we find intentional movement

we stop connecting to our bodies

& this IMO has always been the ~ plan ~

we live in a world that profits off our sickness, of mind, body & spirit

& it is high time we take a stand for our autonomy, so take a moment to reflect and celebrate on the ways you’ve already begun to do this!

& we can add to this practice through building ✨self awareness✨ that is developed by forming safety & trust from within

massage is a beautiful tool that can be used to help facilitate this

I love massage for it has reintroduced my mind & spirit to the awareness of my body

our sense of self is governed by proprioception, the ability to tell where one’s self is in location, in time & space, movement, & action of the body

& this process can be distorted by stress, trauma, dis-ease

which creates that disconnect to our physical selves

this separation is what lends a hand to creating unsustainable habits, patterns, negative thoughts, outsourcing for pleasure, forming addictions, poor decision making…

because if our mind & spirit aren’t in clear communication with our bodies- it takes a while, it make even take dis-ease, to get us to touch back into our physical selves

so by receiving massages (even, perhaps, especially self massage), you can help yourself to engage more intentionally with your body & begin to cultivate more trust & safety from within

maybe take the time before bed to light a candle, play some music, & give your self a massage & see what comes up 💭
