New Year, New Me… but for real

what lies in your future?

with the new year approaching I wanted to share a soft reminder around making resolutions that it’s important to find some middle ground within yourself

we live in a world that pushes this “all or nothing” mindset that becomes even more clear to me in the anxiety of making “new year, new me” goals…

just like that, the pressure is on to somehow become this alternate “better” version of ourselves

& when we don’t meet our own expectations, it often looks like shame, failure, disappointment…

here’s a little example of how we can maintain our middle ground… instead of setting rigid resolutions, consider embracing the idea of continuous improvement

likeeee, rather than fixating on losing a specific amount of weight, focus on prioritizing well-being by incorporating healthier habits, like regular exercise and mindful eating

this approach allows for growth without the burden of perfectionism and apart of perfectionism we often forget to realize, is that it is just as relevant whenever we DON’T continue toward our goals because it’s “not working”, or getting difficult, or lack of consistency… sound familiar?

similarly, for personal and spiritual development, aim for fluid goals

instead of setting a specific target for the number of books to read, cultivate a reading habit by exploring various genres and enjoying the process

fluid goals provide a flexible framework that adapts to your evolving circumstances, encouraging a more compassionate approach to self-improvement

progress is progress, and their lies your middle ground ~
